Neat Pictures! It's been AGEs since I was up that way. Never been to
the park thoguh. Looks like that is my loss indeed! I used to live up
in Appomattox VA and took 29 through Danville all the time while
travelling between my parents home in Greenville SC and Appomattox.
That's very pretty country up that way. Chock FULL of history too!
It is that.

It also has an abbey.
Mepkin Abbey is a Trappist monastery in Berkeley County, South Carolina.
The abbey is located near Moncks Corner, at the junction of the two

(Trappists) came from Gethsemani, Kentucky to found the new Mepkin
Abbey. With a few limitations, the Abbey and the Mepkin Gardens are open
to the public on a daily basis. The monastery grounds include a
graveyard containing the ashes of Henry Laurens, as well as the graves
of John Laurens, Clare Boothe Luce and her husband, the publisher,
Henry. Its gardens are now known as the Mepkin Abbey Botanical Garden.
